The character of Ornellaia 2021, the 16^th edition of Vendemmia d’Artista, is “La Generosità”, which refers to the relationship between land, with its different species and ecosystems, and the energy of the people involved in the creation of Ornellaia 2021.

Marinella Senatore is the artist chosen to interpret “La Generosità”.

The Italian artist Marinella Senatore is a multidisciplinary artist trained in music, fine arts and film. Her practice is characterized by a strong collective and participatory dimension both as methodology and content; her work combines aesthetic research with the transformative power of social engagement. Through the use of traditional and vernacular forms of language - including pop culture, dance, music, mass events - and activism, Senatore reflects on the political nature of collective formations and rituals and their possibility for social change, creating moments of encounter and sharing.

In interpreting the character of Ornellaia 2021 “La Generosità”, the artist used a collage technique, which exemplifies her practice. Collage enables her to organize many pieces of information, images, energy flows and thoughts on a single sheet of paper.

The wine labels were designed as a set of collages that depict a variety of scenes about the land, its generosity, unique traits, and the relationship between land, energy and humans, where the stars also influence the quality of this energy and, ultimately, the quality of the wine.

All these concepts can be found in the collages made for the 750ml, 3- and 6-litre bottles, as well as in the mercury-free neon sculpture created for the 9-litre bottle.
